Springtime in Ireland!
There’s no place on earth more beautiful than Ireland in Spring! Daffodils bloom everywhere, azaleas and rhododendrons grace every garden, and the entire island is covered in brilliant green. In April 2012 The Touring Club is returning to Ireland for another Tour of Irish Gardens and we invite you to join us. Visit ten unique gardens. Explore Dublin and the medieval city of Kilkenny. Explore West Cork and the Ring of Kerry. See many of Ireland’s most famous places and some secret places that are sure to delight you. Come with us!
Our Itinerary:
Wednesday, April 18: depart
Thursday: a day to explore Dublin with the aid of an open top tour ticket followed by an early group dinner.
Friday: Spend the morning at Mt Usher Gardens and the afternoon at Powerscourt, another overnight in Dublin.
Saturday: A morning visit to Kilruddery and an afternoon at a Japanese garden before our arrival in Kilkenny.
Sunday: We’ll visit lovely Altamont gardens before exploring medieval Kilkenny’s castle and cathedral.
Monday: Today we’ll explore Irish history at Jerpoint Abbey and Woodstock, visiting Inistioge and Thomastown.
Tuesday: Today we head for West Cork and an Italian garden on an island, overnight in Glenfarris.
Wednesday: Explore charming Kenmare and the Ring of Kerry, overnight at the “hotel with the world’s most beautiful view” on a lake just outside Killarney, enjoy late evening Irish music and fun.
Thursday: Time to shop in Killarney, explore lovely Adare and enjoy a medieval banquet in a genuine Irish castle.
Friday, April 27: home from Shannon
Details:
We will fly together from New Bern to Dublin (any other departure point can be arranged). Upon arrival we’ll be transported with our luggage to a fine Dublin hotel. All transportation, accommodations, admission fees, and guide services are included as well as all breakfasts and several dinners and lunches.

Cost of the tour is $1499 per person/double occupancy. Travel insurance is additional (approx. $130). Air travel is not included; we will help you arrange it at the best available price.
