Our 2012 Tours & Cruises: January    February    March    April    May    June    July    August    September    October    November     December

Central North Carolina is one of the most outstanding areas in the U.S. for the “local food movement.”  Excellent restaurants have  attracted attention from a wide range of magazines and newspapers.  Their chefs specialize in serving fresh, organic food grown locally by young farmers who grow vegetables and fruits, dairy and meats on their small holdings.  Additionally, many former tobacco farms in Piedmont have become vineyards, creating many interesting wineries to explore.

In 2010 The Touring Club planned and conducted a well-received tour of restaurants, wineries, and farmers’ markets, and many people have asked us to add that to our schedule. 

We’re planning to fulfill those requests soon.  The Touring Club is planning a Piedmont Food & Wine Tour in June 2012.  Details will be posted here when they are finalized.

In addition, our semi-annual Cooking Class Lunch day trip to A Southern Season during their huge summer sale will also take place in June.
