Join Us in Alaska when Snow is on the Mountains & the Glaciers are at Their Best

Fly with us to Seattle where our excellent-value Alaska vacation begins with a transfer to Vancouver, British Columbia.  (Flying into Seattle and receiving an included half-day coach trip through beautiful northwest Washingto to Vancouver enables us to enjoy lower air fares to the west coast.)

Upon arrival in Vancouver we will board our ship, the Zaandam.  The ship was designed to carry fewer passengers in more space to provide maximum comfort. It carries 1432 guests, making it rather small by today's standards (a plus, we think!) The ship has been extensively updated and features pillow-top mattresses, flat screen TV's and many ot features two swimming pools (one glass enclosed), four restaurants, a movie theatre, a spa as well as a fitness center, a casino and onboard duty free shops.

Upon departure we'll cruise through the spectacular Inland Passage for a full day before docking at Ketchikan. In port you can participate in one of the many excursions and activities offered by the ship or explore on your own during our six-hour port call.

The following day will be spent in Juneau, the only state capital which can't be reached by driving. We will be here for more than 13 hours, making this a great day to enjoy a fishing expedition, a "flight-seeing" tour or other special Alaskan adventures.

Next port is Skagway for another long day -- 14 hours!  And remember, at this time of the year and this far north, the days will be very long.  When we depart Skagway at 9:00 p.m. the sun will just be setting.

The following day will find us cruising in Glacier Bay.  We purposely chose an early-season date for our 2012 Alaska cruise-tour because the glaciers disappear later in the season. When we enjoy our day in Glacier Bay, the glaciers will be intact and there will still be snow on the mountain tops. We will see Alaska in all its majesty.

From Glacier Bay we'll sail across Prince William Sound to Seward and Anchorage.  Upon arrival we'll be transferred by deluxe motor coach to Denali National Park where we will spend the night at a Holland-America-owned lodge.  We'll have time for exploring on our own but we'll also travel through the Kenai Fjords National Park past the Harding Ice Field. On the second day we enjoy an included 6-hour guided tour in Denali National Park.

The next day we'll enjoy an exciting trip on the glass-sided McKinley Explorer train back to Anchorage. From there we'll fly back to Seattle, where the last night of our trip will be spent at the Hilton hotel in the Sea-Tac airport.

All of this is included in the cruise fare:

Transfer from Seattle to Vancouver

7-night cruise on Holland-America's mid-size ship, the Zaandam
