About Us

Libbie Griffin is the owner of The Touring Club. A life-long traveler, she has lived abroad, traveled widely in Europe and visited nearly all of the 50 states. Libbie began The Touring Club to share her enjoyment of travel with others. Libbie loves to plan tours to places she knows well, then to lead people there to share the excitement of visiting special places. Within the past year, Libbie's groups have visited Barbados, Panama, Croatia, the U.K., France, Italy, the Isle of Guernsey, and other places. Libbie has become a huge fan of Star Clippers cruises and is happy to be developing a close relationship with that company that enables her to offers special cruise opportunities to her clients.

Barbara Lubsen is well known in New Bern as the co-leader of the Bear Project which arranged the creation and adoption of 50 life-size, individually painted bears on the streets of New Bern during the town's 300th anniversary year. Barbara has always been instrumental in the management of The Touring Club. She is responsible for group sales and will be leading some of our group tours in 2012. Barbara and her husband Tim are looking forward to cruising on the Star Clipper with 20 friends in January. Barbara has experience leading groups, having done that for seven years with a large national tour company. She's also one of the most fun people we know!

Anita English has recently joined Libbie and Barbara at The Touring Club. With many years experience as a travel agent, Anita offers our clients the knowledge that comes with great experience. Anita will be working with individuals and groups in planning world-wide travel. We are very happy to have Anita join us.
